Series 95 of record group 62-16 consists of a map (1853) of the Detroit land district. "Map of Detroit Land District, Michigan. The tracts colored red and green have been selected as swamp lands, inuring to the state of Michigan, under Act of 28th September, 1850. Those colored green have been sold and located since the passage of said act." General Land Office, John Wilson, Comr. No scale. Map is 45" x 56" in size.

The State Land Office Board was created by Public Act 155 of 1937. It was to consist of two members appointed by the governor, and the auditor general, who was member and chairman.
